We are the official partner school when it
comes to IYT licenses.
You are getting everything out of one hand with us. From theory to radio training to practical training on board a sailing yacht with the subsequent exams. With our compact courses you will acquire the tools to safely move a sailing yacht.
We offer you the course to become: IYT Bareboat Skipper .
- The IYT Bareboat Skipper (Sail) is an internationally recognized license and entitles you to captain yachts up to 24 m long under sail in coastal sea waters up to 20 nautical miles from the coastline in moderate winds and swells.
- In this course, the VHF Marine Communication Master SRC is part of the training and examination.
Requirement
- Minimum age 16 years
- On the day of the exam you must have traveled at least 200 nautical miles and 10 days at sea.
Note: 200 nautical miles cannot be achieved during the training week. We therefore recommend booking a 1-week sailing trip with us in advance. Contact us.
Contents of the training
- Shipping Law
- Seamanship
- Weather science
- tide
- navigation
- VHF radio
- Driving a sailing yacht
Process theory
You learn the theory independently at home whenever you have time (autodidactically) according to a curriculum prepared by us. We start the Zoom webinars 6 weeks before you come on board for practical training. We then meet virtually twice a week to exchange ideas. You send us your questions or problems in advance by email and we will discuss them in this group. So all course participants benefit from it. Duration of the webinar approx. 1 hour.
Duration of practical training
The practical training takes place either:
Option 1: on our school’s own yacht in Montenegro or
Option 2: on a chartered sailing yacht, e.g. B. in Croatia or the Netherlands.
For all training trips on our own yacht in Montenegro, arrival is on Saturday. The theory exams will be conducted on Friday. The practical part of the radio license and the sailing test take place on Saturday. Depending on the weather, the exam days can also be swapped. You can leave immediately after passing the exam or you can stay as our guests until Sunday morning. You will not incur any additional costs for staying overnight.
If you are very busy at work during the week, training on the weekends might be interesting for you. We offer you the opportunity to complete your training in Montenegro over 3 weekends, from Friday lunchtime to Sunday evening. The exam will take place on the last date. Overnight stays on board are possible.
Training trips with chartered yachts at your desired location always run from Saturday to Saturday. An extra day is not possible here.
